Motorcyclist injured in U.S. 259 wreck Saturday in NE Longview

 LONGVIEW (KYTX) - A mid-morning auto collision injured a woman in northeast Longview today.

According to DPS Trooper Jacob Muehlstein, a sedan traveling north in the 3700 block of U.S. Highway 259 North turned left into the path of a southbound motorcycle. The driver of the sedan was trying to turn into The Reserve apartment complex next to UT-Tyler's Longview University Center.

The woman driving the motorcycle was taken to a local hospital. An eyewitness tells CBS 19 the victim will likely suffer amputation. DPS were called to the scene at 9:32 a.m. Saturday. Southbound traffic on U.S. 259 was reduced to one lane for more than an hour, while DPS, Longview police and Gregg County sheriff's deputies investigated the wreck.

Muehlstein says no charges have been filed, but the wreck remains under investigation.
