Murder Suicide ruled in deaths of 5 Northeast Texas family members

UPDATE: (KYTX)- Preliminary autopsies have revealed all three children along with the father, Israel Alvarez, died of gunshot wounds.

Investigators say the mother, Guadalupe Ronquillo-Ovalle, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

They have determined the family members were killed sometime late Thursday or early Friday.
Family friends are in disbelief.

"It's hard enough when it's a grownup against a grownup, but when kids are involved. They haven't had a chance to live… my 10-year-old sat next to him every day. They picked their seats to be next to each other," says Claudia Cleveland, a family friend.

A motive has yet to be determined, and the investigation continues.

NAVARRO COUNTY (CNN/KYTX) - A family of five is found dead -- but authorities in Northeast Texas say they do not believe a killer is at large.

Navarro County Sheriff's Deputies say they found two adults and three children dead inside a home outside of Rice, that's south of Dallas. The sheriff says deputies had responded to the home at least four times before. The investigation is being concentrated inside the home. Detectives have not yet said how the family died.
