Murder trial begins Wednesday for the shooting death at Tyler night club

(KYTX) - Thirty-three year Marquel Scott of Tyler goes on trial tomorrow for a 2012 shooting death at a Tyler night club.
 
Prosecutors believe Scott is the man who opened fire outside the hyena club on north grand killing twenty-six year old Keeston Fields.
 
Police say the shooting took place about 2 a.m. outside the club.

Two people were hit by bullets. The victim and a second man who was critically injured. Based on information gathered at the scene, police were able to obtain an arrest warrant for Scott who the next day voluntarily turned himself in.

The trial begins tomorrow morning in Smith County's 7th District Court.

In the meantime, Scott is behind bars on bonds totaling just over a million dollars.
