Negotiations continue between Workforce Solutions, ETCOG

TYLER (KYTX) - Last night -- we told you about yesterday's meeting in Kilgore of the finance and audit committee for Workforce Solutions East Texas.

You might remember committee members last spring asked for an audit and a new contract with East Texas Council of Governments, the quasi-government agency known as ETCOG.

For several years, ETCOG has helped manage budgeting for Workforce Solutions, which operates working centers like these in Tyler, Longview and across East Texas.

Just like staff, clients for workforce solutions depend on internet and communications support and maintenance.

But at $128 dollars,  some finance committee members think the company hired by ETCOG for I.T. services --Rockwall-based T-H Enterprises -- is charging too much. So they're asking for bids for a new I.T. contractor.

Workforce Solutions has retained a Kilgore attorney to negotiate changes in its contract with ETCOG.

He has our present contract in hand for review, which he is doing, and intends to have amendments, changes, modifications, the recommendations brought back to this board by our August meeting," Workforce Solutions Board of Directors Chairman Robert Haberle says.
