HENDERSON (KYTX) - Sunday was a huge day for the medical community and the people of Rusk County.
A $30 million dollar investment from the ETMC Regional Healthcare System has built a brand new hospital in Henderson. The ribbon cutting ceremony took place Sunday morning.
The facility has a grand lobby, a primary care clinic and a new emergency department. The hospital is a level four trauma center.
ETMC Henderson Administrator Mark Leitner says the hospital is a big step for Rusk County citizens: "We want our community to feel comfortable coming to their health facility here in Henderson and I think that this basically communicates a sense of confidence to the community that they can come here and feel good about the care they receive."
ETMC has brought in several new physicians to work at the new clinic above the emergency room. The facilities are already open and ready to take patients.
You can access the front of the new facility on High Street in Henderson.
