New FedEx distribution center will be first tenant in Lindale Industrial Park

LINDALE (TYLER MORNING TELEGRAPH) - The Lindale Economic Development Corp. sold a 17-acre site in the city's industrial park to a company that plans to build a Fed Ex Ground distribution center, officials announced this morning.

Tyler FXG, LLC, a subsidiary of Jones Development, of Kansas City, Mo., bought the property and will construct a 163,000-square-foot distribution center. Construction is set to begin immediately and take a little more than a year to complete, representatives said.

"We are particularly pleased with the announcement that our first occupant in our new Lindale Industrial Park is such a nationally recognized company as FedEx," Lindale Economic Development Corp. Board Chairman Barham Fulmer said. "This announcement is reflective of a great deal of cooperation and hard work by (LEDC President) John Clary, the LEDC board and the city council and staff. It demonstrates how much we can accomplish as a team…"

Lindale Economic Development Corp. purchased 120 acres of land at the southwest corner of Harvey Road (Country Road 433), along Interstate 20, in 2007 to develop into the Lindale Industrial Park to attract industrial and manufacturing companies.

Basic infrastructure was complete in March 2012. Just two months later, the Lindale Economic Development Corp. signed a purchase and sale agreement with a developer to construct the distribution center. Last week, the corporation closed on the land sale to Tyler FXG, LLC.
