New Group Aims at Stopping Juvenile Violence

LONGVIEW (KYTX) - We Got Next was formed just a month ago,and consists of young adults who have seen drug abuse, gun violence, and domestic violence throughout their lives.
Founder Tyrone Robinson says his neighborhood was crime-ridden and he says he is trying to save the kids who see violence like he did.
"Saw people get beat, get shot  It humbled me, and made me want to reach out." - Tyrone Robinson
We've Got Next has already gotten 30 East Texas kids, and teens on board. This week, the group had the students visit a nursing home to play bingo, and help give these women makeovers.
"The people in here laid a foundation for us, and now it's time for us to lay a foundation for our youth."
On Friday, a teenage girl was shot in her car at Tree House Apartments.   Mentor Myeshi Tyeski  says it's situations like these that need changing, and hopefully We Got Next can lead by example.
"When I got involved with the wrong crew, I lived a life that wasn't good" - Myeshi Tyeski, Mentor
The group will knock doors to find teens and kids that are interested. The group will offer tutoring,
mentoring, activities, and one on one hangouts with children and teens that are interested.
