New Hampshire voters cast first ballots in primary

Dixville Notch, NH (CNN) - While you were sleeping, a handful of voters in New Hampshire were at the polling station. Just after the stroke of midnight, the tiny town of Dixville Notch, New Hampshire delivered the first results of New Hampshire's primary.

Mitt Romney and Jon Huntsman tied for first place with two votes each. Ron Paul and Newt Gingrich got one vote a piece, while Rick Santorum and Rick Perry didn't get any.

Since 1968, the town has always picked the eventual Republican presidential nominee. Romney beat Rick Santorum by just eight votes in the Iowa Caucuses. But recent polls show him the clear front-runner in New Hampshire.
