North Korea has no intention of entering talks with South Korea

NORTH KOREA (CBS) - North Korea says it has no intention of entering talks with South Korea and America -- despite signals from the two countries that they are open to dialogue with Pyongyang.

South Korea called the response "very regrettable," but despite the threats of war, North Korea is celebrating the birthday of national founder Kim Il Sung. Celebrations included the unveiling of two new statues and a marathon with runners from around the world racing through the streets of the capitol.

Secretary of State John Kerry spent the past three days meeting with leaders in Seoul, Beijing and Tokyo -- bolstering relationships in the wake of North Korea's threats. In addition to keeping North Korea from creating nuclear weapons, Kerry hopes these neighboring countries will get Pyongyang back to the negotiating table.
