Tyler, TX (KYTX) -- Charred remains are all that's left inside a once vibrant store, called M&M Beauty Supply and Music, in North Tyler.
"It played a lot of good music. It's a shame that it's burned down," Tia Goff, who lives nearby, said.
"It really greatly depresses everyone in the community that this has taken place. It was like a homestead for everyone in the community," Terry Hampton, a loyal customer, said.
Hampton says he's sad his hangout on 1114 West Bow St. went up in flames.
"You needed something done, you could always come here, bring your kids," Hampton said.
It's been especially unbelievable for owner Kenneth Moore.
"It's a total loss," Moore said.
Tyler firefighters are investigating the cause of the he fire, and suspect the heating/AC unit in the back of the store may be to blame.
Moore says while the future isn't certain, he's hopeful this may not be the end for M&M.
"We'll bounce back, but this has been a really important part of history," Moore said.
From the looks of it, he'll have plenty of support behind him.
