EAST TEXAS (KYTX/NWS) - The damage surveys underway for storms that occurred Monday, February 18, 2013 by National Weather Service confirms that the supercell storms that moved across East Texas produced several tornadoes.
A tornado reportedly touched down in Kilgore along CR 281 and 283. Several large branches and a Hardwood tree were snapped.
A brief touch-down snapped the tops out of several Pine Trees along Hwy 322 near Barnes Creek.
The NWS reports that a tornado also uprooted a Pine Tree and snapped tops of trees along CR 2126 and FM 782 in Tatum.
In New Summerfield several trees were uprooted and large branches were reportedly snapped along FM 1798 and FM 839 near Cat Creek.
Reports of a travel trailer overturned and a roof torn off of a metal barn along CR 3168 in Mount Enterprise by NWS was caused by a tornado. Damages of snapped trees and large branches along CR 3156 were also observed. A brief touch down snapped large branches along Hwy. 315. NWS also reports several trees were snapped and an above-ground swimming pool was wrapped around a tree along FM 95.
Several pictures of the funnel were captured in Beckville and reports of several large limbs and trees were snapped along FM 1794.
Just South of the Sabine River, numerous large limbs and a few Pine Trees were snapped along FM 1794 in Carthage. A Brief touch-down snapped a small tree along CR 307 and two trees were snapped along FM 31 near the CR 316 intersection.
In Garrison, the roof of a metal building was partially peeled back, the roof on a mobile home was damaged, and some trees were snapped along US Hwy 84 in the community of Caledonia.
A tornado also touch downed briefly in Timpson and snapped several large branches along CR 4916 and also along US Hwy 59.
The tornadoes reported in Timspon and one in Mount Enterprise were EF-1 which produced winds up to 90 mph. The other reported tornadoes were all EF-0 produced wins up to 70 mph.
