Once-a-week trash collection begins in Longview

LONGVIEW (KYTX) - The City of Longview rolled out its simplified, once-a-week trash collection schedule today.

Sanitation department managers hope the change will save the city money and efficiency, and encourages people to recycle. Every sanitation customer has been given two 95-gallon bins - one for trash, one for recyclables.

If you're wondering what to do with your old 18-gallon recycling bin from the city, you can donate it to any Longview area school, keep it, or put it on your curbside for pick up.
