Parks and Recreation Board of Tyler considers closing all parks at night

(KYTX) - Should all public parks in Tyler be closed at night? That is the issue the parks and recreation board is dealing with.

After that shooting the city decided that PT Cole Park would be off limits from dark to dawn and established a curfew.

The problem is that some city parks are closed after dark but other are not. Some say there should be a consistent policy that affects all parks.

Board members are not sure if it is really a good idea to close parks at night after all. They say closing parks at night may help reduce crime; but they also know that some parks are lighted and closing them at night takes away places neighborhood children can go and play.
