Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run identified

One is hospitalized after an auto-pedestrian crash.

TYLER - Police released the identity of the woman killed in a hit-and-run accident that happened Wednesday night on Highway 64 near Loop 323 in Tyler.

Jana Dykes, 41, was hit by two cars while trying to cross Highway 64 west from south to north. She was struck in the outside turn lane of eastbound traffic.

The first vehicle fled the scene and the second stayed.

Police are looking for a 2001 or 2002 tan or gold Honda Civic. The car will have damage or have an inoperable passenger headlight.

Dykes was not using the crosswalk while trying to cross the highway.

Investigators continue to seek information on the driver who fled the scene of the crash. This case remains under investigation.
