Pedestrian survives collision with driver in Longview on Saturday

LONGVIEW/GREGG COUNTY (KYTX) - Longview police say a man was treated and released from a local hospital after he was struck by a passing motorist on Saturday.

The collision occurred in the 1900 block of East Marshall Avenue at Arkansas Street. According to police spokeswoman Kristie Brian, 52-year-old Jimmy Ray Pepper was in the highway's left-turn lane when a tan GMC pickup driven by 72-year-old Michael Morgan hit him.

Pepper was transported to Good Shepherd Medical Center with non-life-threatening. According to hospital personnel, he was treated and released the same day.

Police have not said whether charges will be filed in the collision.
