People across East Texas take time to honor veterans


(KYTX) - People across East Texas honoring those who fight for freedom.
Some of the larger ceremonies started earlier. Many of them were at eleven this morning.On the eleventh day of the eleventh month.

The City of Tyler hosted hundreds of veterans and their families on the down-town square.
A choir sang a medley of anthems for each branch of the military and retired Air Force Lt. Colonel Jack Jackson was smiling when he heard his.

"Think of the people at home who made sacrifices so that their armed services could have what they needed to do their job. It was really, really a team effort and I will be eternally proud of this country and grateful for the way the entire country stepped up during World War II," says Lt. Jackson.



The city ceremony also included a service hosted by First Baptist Church. 

 Church leaders also displayed art honoring those who have served in the military.
