The Communications Department at Pine Tree ISD received 6 Texas School Public Relations Association awards including four Gold Star awards and two Silver Star awards for excellence in school communications. The awards were announced at the Texas School Public Relations Association (TSPRA) Star Awards Celebration on February 20, 2013 during the association's annual conference held for the first time in Corpus Christi.
Gold Star Awards were given for the Beacon Awards Poster, Beacon Logo (Original Graphic Design), the Primary Campus and the Junior High Campus Video (Video promotion category).
Silver Star Awards were given for the Points of Pride logo and the ExCEL Campus Brochure.
Each year, TSPRA recognizes communicators in school districts, education foundations, education associations and organizations for their outstanding work in both print and electronic media. This year, approximately 1,000 entries were received.
"This is the first time for Pine Tree ISD to enter this competition in a long while," said Vickie Echols, Director of Communications. "We are proud to receive six awards at the state level as a Point of Pride for PTISD."
Entries selected as best in the state were honored with Bronze Star, Silver Star, Gold Star and Best of Category Medals and Awards. Crystal Commendation Awards were presented for outstanding entries that featured special programs and events.
