Police Chief of Rusk resigns, takes new job in Nacogdoches

RUSK (KYTX) - Wednesday, January 9, 2013 was Rusk's Police Chief Joe Evans official last day on the job for the Rusk Police Department.

According to City Manager Mike Murray, Chief Evans put in his notice about a month ago and has decided to take a job as Jail Administrator for Nacogdoches County.

"We appreciated him serving the city for almost four years and he will be missed," said Murray.

Chief Evans served the city of Rusk since 2009.

Jamie Campbell will be sworn in as the Interim Chief Thursday at 5 p.m.
