Police: Quitman woman at Longview motel with ID, debit cards, checks on at least 10 victims

LONGVIEW/GREGG COUNTY (KYTX) - A Quitman woman placed on three years' federal supervised release four months ago on a conspiracy conviction was arrested at a Longview motel Monday.

Officers say they were at the Days Inn in the 3100 block of Estes Parkway on the manager's consent to issue a criminal trespass warning to occupants in one of the motel's room. In the room was 32-year-old Brandy Nicole Derryberry, who gave consent for officers to search her laptop bag and other belongings. According to an arrest affidavit, Derryberry had identifying information that belonged to other people, including a Social Security card, a debit card, a bank account ID card and checks belonging to at least six other victims.

Derryberry is in the Gregg County Jail this morning on $10,000 bond.

Court records show she was convicted in April in federal court in Tyler for conspiracy involving having identifying information on at least five victims. Under a plea agreement, she pled guilty to one count of the eight-count indictment, and three felony indictments in state court for forgery, forgery against the elderly and fraudulent use or possession of identifying information, were all dismissed, along with the other seven federal counts.
