Polk Co. authorities release identities of couple recovered from Lake Livingston

POLK COUNTY - Authorities have released the identities and additional information about a husband and wife who went missing on Lake Livingston on Sunday.

According to a press release from the Polk County Sheriff's Department, Glen and Wendy Swanner's boat washed ashore, empty, on Lake Livingston Sunday evening. The caller was afraid those aboard were hurt, so called in the unattended boat.

A search by Scenic Loop Volunteer Fire Department, Cape Royale Search and Rescue and the U.S. Coast Guard lasted on and off for two days before the bodies of the couple were found and identified.

Mrs. Swanner's body was found first south of Tigerville Park around 9:30 a.m. Monday. A fisherman called in on Tuesday morning after finding a body on Lake Livingston, which is believed to be Mr. Swanner.

Both bodies have been sent for autopsies.

Chief Deputy Bryon Lyons advises that foul play is not suspected at this time and the case is pending the results of the autopsies.

The Swanners were from Brazoria, Texas and owned a weekend home on the lake.
