Pre school holds July 4th parade

TYLER (KYTX)-Stepping Stones preschool in Tyler had a special event today, the annual Fourth of July parade this morning.

Along with the usual flag waving and song singing, the preschoolers welcomed Sergeant Darius Bennett back from serving in the middle east.

The preschool students and their grand friends from a local assisted living home paraded around town waving american flags, cheering and singing the star spangled banner.

Parade organizer Joanne McMeans says they are proud to have been able to welcome home sergeant bennett.

"It was a wonderful day to share a message with the boys and girls about a single person can make a difference as well as collectively we can stand," McMeans said.

Sergeant Bennett has spent most of his army career at Fort Bragg, but was recently deployed to the Middle East.

He is back in East Texas to walk his sister down the aisle.
