Preschoolers in gaps and gowns celebrate their first graduation

TYLER (KYTX) - Preschoolers celebrate the end of the year with a gradation ceremony at Niños de Promesa.

More than 42 children, ages 4-5, will be recognized for their achievements tonight and walk the stage in caps and gowns to receive their diploma Thursday, May 22 at Niños de Promesa graduation ceremony at First Baptist Church, 301 W. Ferguson.

"This is a happy, but emotional time as we know our children a reprepared to enter elementary school and succeed," said Astilma Vargas,Niños de Promesa program director. "These children are Tyler's future,and we are blessed to have been able to play a part in setting the foundation for a lifetime of education and achievement."

The event will begin with an opening prayer from Pike Wisner, FirstBaptist Church Tyler pastor, followed by a performance put on by the graduates in honor of their parents. Each graduate will receive a diploma and children's bible.
