Rain, thunderstorms back in the forecast

UPDATE: EAST TEXAS (KYTX) - A Severe Thunderstorm Watch was issued early this afternoon for much of north central Texas and a part of northeast Texas. The watch included Anderson, Henderson and Van Zandt counties in our area until 7 p.m.

Thunderstorms are expected to cross East Texas this evening. Some storms could produce large hail, damaging winds and heavy rainfall. The rain will end after midnight, but showers and thunderstorms will return Friday.

The rain will end early Saturday leaving mostly sunny skies for the rest of the weekend. High temperatures will be a few degrees cooler today through Sunday thanks mostly to the clouds and rain. The 80s will return Monday and last at least through the middle of next week.

EAST TEXAS (KYTX) - Good Thursday morning!

Increasing clouds along with rain and thunderstorms are back in the forecast this afternoon/tonight. There is a possibility we could see some strong thunderstorms with small hail and gusty winds late this afternoon/evening.

Highs today should reach 80 then drop to 67 by Friday morning. There is a 50% chance of rain and thunderstorms Friday as a cold front works slowly into the Piney Woods.

Have a great Thursday!
