Renovations proposed for 2 popular Tyler parks

(KYTX) - Renovations to the two popular Tyler parks could get facelifts.

The Tyler parks and recreation board heard two presentations today on  how to spruce up Bergfeld Park and The Tyler Rose Garden.

Renovations to the park are projected at $2 million,  which would come out of half-cent sales tax dollars.

They include new playground equipment and swings as well as a proposal to remove most of the amphitheater seating to leave a grassy area for picnics to view the shows there.

Renovation ideas for the rose garden are mostly centered on generating income.

The plans are still tentative and no price has been set but the proposals include a café, a mobile amphitheater with a stage and installing restrooms in the garden.

For more on the timeline for the  projects, read Dayna Worshel's story in tomorrow's Tyler Morning Telegraph.
