TYLER (KYTX) - Coast to Coast, a dance company out of Dallas, invited the Southern Belles to perform alongside four drill teams from schools across Texas. Laura Miller, a dance teacher at Robert E. Lee, helped choreograph the group dance for the parade.
"This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for these girls," Robert E. Lee High School Drill Team Director Sarah Nash said. "It is an honor to be invited to perform, and I know the girls are going to have a great time exploring Chicago."
More than 50 girls from Robert E. Lee will make the trip to Chicago for the performance. During the week the team will go see a Broadway play and speak to a cast member. The girls will also visit museums and the Willis Tower, formerly known as the Sears Tower.
The McDonald's Thanksgiving Day Parade starts at 8 a.m. and runs until 11 a.m. The parade is aired live nationally on WGN America.– The Robert E. Lee High School Southern Belles will perform in the McDonald's Thanksgiving Day Parade in Chicago next week.
