LONGVIEW (KYTX) - At least a thousand runners are expected to try and tackle the "Run It Like It's Hot Miracle Mud Run". The run is a first for Longview and is quite different from other runs. The track is laden with obstacles and of course, it's muddy. The run is to raise money for a special needs baseball park; a first for East Texas. The Miracle League of East Texas is hosting the event and its Treasurer Allen Lizza says, it'll give special needs kids a chance to enjoy sports
"There are so many kids out there that don't get the chance to participate in America's favorite past time. This field is going to encompass that and bring visibility to the cause of helping children with disabilities." - Allen Lizza, The Miracle League of Texas
The park is expected to cost $750,000 and there is still two thirds left to be raised. Registration for the run will begin at 6:30 Saturday morning. The Mud Run will be held at Lear Park.
