Rusk County's Operation Ice Storm Leads to Multiple Arrests

RUSK COUNTY (KYTX)- During June, the Rusk County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Division executed three controlled substance search warrants which have resulted in the seizure of suspected methamphetamine, suspected MDMA (ecstasy), suspected marijuana, firearms, suspected stolen property and United States Currency.

On June 16, a controlled substance search warrant was carried out for the Jonathan Swindell residence located on Rusk County Road 4114 in the Carlisle community. 

Confiscated during the warrant was suspected methamphetamine, suspected MDMA (ecstasy), and numerous items of suspected drug paraphernalia. Arrested at the scene was Jonathan Swindell, 34, of Carlisle and Traci Berry, 23, of Henderson. 

Jonathan Swindell was charged with two criminal offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance, a felony of the third degree. Additional charges are pending on Jonathan Swindell for the criminal offense of Delivery of a Controlled Substance. 

Traci Berry was charged with the criminal offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance, a state jail felony.

On June 19, a controlled substance search warrant was carried out for the Jerry Warren residence located on Rusk County Road 4132. 

Confiscated during the warrant was suspected methamphetamine, numerous items of drug paraphernalia, a prohibited weapon, a suspected stolen big screen television and a reported stolen Suzuki motorcycle. Arrested at the scene was Jerry Warren, 34, of Henderson, and Amanda Dickerson, 30, of Henderson. 

Jerry Warren was charged with the criminal offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance, a felony of the third degree. Additional charges are pending on Jerry Warren for theft. 

Amanda Dickerson was arrested on an outstanding warrant for theft. Additional charges of Possession of a Prohibited Weapon are pending.

On June 23, a controlled substance search warrant was carried out the Curtis Howard residence located on Rusk County Road 1114 in the Laird Hill Community. 

Confiscated during the warrant was suspected methamphetamine, suspected MDMA (ecstasy), suspected marijuana, five firearms, United States Currency and numerous items of drug paraphernalia. 

Arrested at the scene was Curtis Howard, 31, of Kilgore, and James Dennis, 34, of Kilgore. 

Curtis Howard was charged with the criminal offense of Manufacture/Delivery of a Substance, a felony of the first degree, and Possession of a Controlled Substance, a felony of the third degree. 

James Dennis was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, a state jail felony. Additional charges of Delivery of a Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by Felon are pending.

All search warrants were issued by Rusk County Court at Law Judge Chad Dean.

The search warrants and arrest are the result of a joint investigation conducted by the Rusk County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division, The Rusk County District Attorney's Office, Henderson Police Department Narcotics Division and the East Texas Auto Theft Task Force. 

The warrants were executed by the Rusk County Sheriff's Office Tactical Unit and the Henderson Police Department Tactical Unit. Further assisting in the warrant was Rusk County Child Protective Services.

The Rusk County Sheriff's Office Criminal/Narcotics Investigation Division anticipates additional arrest to stem from the investigation.

All defendants were arraigned by Justice of the Peace Pct. 5 Joe Sorrels.

According to Sheriff's Lt. David Roberts, Howard and Warren have been released from jail today after posting bond.
