Sabine ISD to hold a bond election in May

LIBERTY CITY/ GREGG COUNTY (KYTX) - Sabine ISD is asking voters to approve a $19 million  bond next month for the construction of a brand new elementary school that's more than 80 years old.

The district says the school has safety issues involving electrical wiring and plumbing and the building layout is disjointed and inefficient. Sabine ISD says the proposed new school will sit on approximately 12 acres with ample space for a playground, activity fields and parking. It will also meet state requirements for size and have up to date technology along with the latest in security technology.

The bond election is May 11.
