Second Upshur County Capital Murder defendant sentenced

GILMER (KYTX) - A second defendant in the December 2012 kidnapping and murder of 28-year-old Ronnie Joe Gammage has plead guilty.

Sarah Haslam has accepted a life sentence without parole for her involvement in the murder. He remains in the Upshur County Jail until he is transferred to the Texas Department of Corrections.

Another defendant in the case, 21-year-old Daniel Paul Jones of Longview, also received a sentence of life without parole last Oct. 30 after pleading guilty.

A court date has yet to be set for a third co-defendant, 22-year-old Andrew Conrad Norwine of Arlington.

Gammage was abducted, brutally attacked before his body was set on fire and found in a pasture in Upshur County on December 19, 2012.
