Secuity check leads deputies to marijuana grow house

WINDMILL FARMS (KYTX) - Kaufman County deputies found more than 200 marijuana plants at a home after responding to a security check call Nov. 10.

According to a press release, each marijuana plant was approximately 36 inches tall and located throughout the Windmill Farms residence.

Officers arrived at the home about 9:30 a.m. in response to a security call and found water coming out of the garage, front door and all sides of the slab. Fearing for the safety of the home owner, Forney Fire Department officials were dispatched to the scene to shut the water off.

Upon opening the back door of the home, deputies announced their presence and from the back door way could see marijuana plants with grow lights, the release said. Investigators and deputies found no one home.

This case is still under investigation.
