Senate passes legislation to end furloughs

Furloughs

(CBS) - The Senate passed legislation late last night to end furloughs of air traffic controllers.

Approval came with unanimous consent and long after many senators already left for a week long recess. The bill authorizes the FAA to transfer more than $250-million from different accounts in order to keep air traffic controllers working.

The furloughs have caused a large number of flight delays throughout the country. The House could vote on the bill as early as today.
