Sentencing date set for Longview man convicted on weapons charge

LONGVIEW/GREGG COUNTY (KYTX) - A 30-year-old Longview man convicted on a weapons charge last week will be sentenced June 3, according to the Gregg County District Attorney's Office this morning.

Timothy Earl Johnson, also known as "Money Trump" and a member of a Longview gang called "300 Davis Street," was convicted by a jury Tuesday of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. He had been out of jail on $5,000 bond since his arrest on the charge in September 2012, but Tuesday, Gregg County 124th District Judge Alfonso Charles revoked Johnson's bond and remanded him to the custody of Gregg County sheriff's deputies.

Johnson faces up to 10 years in prison.
