EAST TEXAS (KYTX) - Severe weather is making it's way through East Texas this Thursday morning. More than 1,500 lightning strikes have been reported in Van Zandt County, and a flash flooding is also a major concern as thunderstorms develop and continue moving across the area.
Thunderstorms over southern Oklahoma will continue to push south toward the Red River valley this morning. Hail, damaging winds and even isolated tornadoes will be possible ahead of a slow moving cold front.
Highs today should reach 90 and dip into the lower 70's by morning. Skies will clear behind the storms Friday morning. Highs Friday - Sunday should range between 88-90.
