(KYTX) - A line of thunderstorms preceded a cold front into East Texas and prompted the issuance of a Severe Thunderstorm Watch which included those counties along and east of a line from near Crockett to Marshall until 8:00 p.m.
Some of the storms became severe, and warnings which expired at 2:00 p.m. were issued for Harrison and Panola counties.
The line will move out of our area late this afternoon followed by rapidly clearing skies.
High Fire Danger exists across much of East Texas due to the strong winds and low humidity. Temperatures will drop to the upper 30s Friday morning. It will be mostly sunny and pleasant through the weekend with highs near 70 degrees and lows in the 40s and low 50s.
