Shelby Co. woman dies in one-vehicle crash

SHELBY COUNTY (KYTX) – A weekend traffic accident has claimed the life of one person.

Texas DPS Troopers report on Sunday July 27, at 11:19 pm, a car driven by 22-year old Amanda Kay Haney of Tenaha, TX left the roadway, and struck a tree.

The one-vehicle crash occurred on FM 2667, two miles west of Timpson in Shelby County.

Haney was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the car, according to DPS.

She was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Jim Powers.

The crash remains under investigation.
