Sheriff JB Smith shares his story at Mistleteaux and Magic

TYLER (KYTX) - There was a special booth at Mistleteaux and Magic this year.

Smith County Sheriff JB Smith has put some of his experiences as sheriff down on paper -- again.

He has just released his second book based on true events during his tenure.

The novel, "The Unholy Ghost Murder," is about one of the 146 murder cases Smith worked during his 36 years in office.

It details the case involving a Troup preacher that killed his wife.

"The good part about this book is the twists and the turns that it made and we solved it sort of like the do on television," says Smith. "With forensics and that's what it was all about."

Sheriff Smith partnered with writers at the Tyler Morning Telegraph to document the murder story.
