HENDERSON/RUSK COUNTY (KYTX) - A nearly two-week investigation has led to the arrest of a 35-year-old Rusk County man for aggravated sexual assault of a child, with at least three juvenile victims.
Rusk County Sheriff's Sgt. David Roberts said Barney Samuel Bradshaw, of Kilgore, was taken into custody Thursday by U.S. marshals in Gregg County on an arrest warrant from the DA's office for continuous sexual abuse of a child. Bradshaw was also wanted on a Tarrant County warrant, and he was transported to the Rusk County Jail Friday, where he's being held on $500,000 bond.
Gregg County Jail records show that Bradshaw was in their jail between Sept. 27 and Oct. 24, when he was then transferred to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice to serve a three-year prison sentence for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. It was his 14th arrest in Gregg County since 2002. According to jail records, he was arrested and charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child by Kilgore police in October 2010, but he was released five days later on $50,000 bond and never indicted on the charge.
