TYLER (KYTX) - If you're looking to help out a good cause, you can do so just by donating shoes.
Brother's on the Move has been promoting it's "Shoe Ministry" for about three months.
CBS 19's Katiera Winfrey explains how a small donation can make a big impact.
Shoes of all sizes, colors and designs sit in a box, waiting to be handed out to their new owners.
"The goal is to just reach as many people as we can," said Daniel Minton. He's one of the men spearheading the collection efforts.
The "Shoe Ministry" is a collection effort to gather shoes for children ages two through 18 years old.
"If we can get the shoes for the kids you can't beat that," Minton said.
"Shoe Ministry" kicked off at the beginning of the year. In that time nearly 100 pairs of shoes have been donated.
The ministry of soles was started after Minton and his business partner saw a need for shoes in east Texas. Minton says there's already so many organizations collecting clothes, food, and toys, but this necessity seemed to be an afterthought.
"I know sometime we all just need a little nudge, so this is my nudge to get people to get out and donate them to the kids."
Although the "Shoe Ministry" is in it's infancy, Minton hopes it expands to a yearly and year long event.
He said for many, a pair of shoes can be the blessing they've been waiting for.
