Shooting suspect released from behavioral treatment center

LONGVIEW/GREGG COUNTY (KYTX) - Ina Lawson, who is accused of shooting her husband March 9 at her Longview home, was released from a behavioral treatment facility on Saturday, her daughter said.

Lawson was arrested March 9, after police said she shot Gregg County Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace Sam Lawson three times on March 9. Later that week, she was released from the Gregg County Jail on $100,000 bond and admitted in a treatment facility, according to the Lawsons' daughter, Debbie Drayden.

Sam Lawson is recovering from his injuries at a Dallas rehabilitation hospital.

Police were called to the home Sunday afternoon for a family disturbance involving the Lawsons' grandchildren, but no one was arrested or injured, according to police and Drayden.
