Six Tyler ISD students ‘Commended' by National Merit Scholarship Program

TYLER (KYTX) – Six students from Robert E. Lee High School have been named as Commended Students in the 2014 National Merit Scholarship Program.

Students earned the Commended recognition by placing among the top five percent of students - out of more than 1.5 million students - who took the 2012 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).

Approximately 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise.

"I am very proud of these outstanding students for having earned the prestigious recognition of being named National Merit Commended Students and for their overall commitment to academic excellence," Lee Principal Gary Brown said.
