TYLER (KYTX) - A campaign kickoff party Thursday night for Skip Ogle, who is running for state representative.
Tyler businessman and republican Skip Ogle announced his candidacy back in August.
Thursday night, a kickoff event with his supporters at Rick's on the Square.
Ogle says he wants to put more of a focus on keeping small businesses afloat. Ogle says he thinks the folks in Austin still aren't committed to keeping money in tax-payers' pockets.
"I've talked to so many people across the community, across our East Texas community, that have so many worries and concerns, not only about the federal government, but also about our state government. This is an opportunity to lay out that agenda for this next session," said Ogle.
Ogle will go up against republican incumbent Matt Schaefer. Schaefer announced his run for re-election a week before Ogle.
