(KYTX) - A strong upper level trough of low pressure is over the Central U.S. today.
It is driving thunderstorms across the midsection of the country including here in Texas. Although there is a slight risk of severe storms, the main threat will be from heavy rainfall.
Flooding closed Highway 69 for a time north of Greenville in Hunt County around noon.
Showers and thunderstorms will continue tonight and Friday. High temperatures will stay in the 80s through the weekend with lows in the 60s. There will be a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms through the weekend and into early next week.
