Spelling Champs Tie for First Place

(CNN) - For the first time in 52 years, two young students -- one from New York, the other from Texas -- are declared co-champions of the Scripps National Spelling Bee.

The tie was called after the pair spelled a dozen words in a row correctly during a final round face-off.  They had nearly exhausted the judges' supply of tough, championship words.
This is only the fourth tie in the history of the national spelling bee since its beginning in 1925.
