Student opens fire at Oregon high school

(CBS) - Counselors are being made available to students who should be celebrating the start of summer break. That's after a student opens fire in an Oregon high school -- killing one student, injuring a teacher, then shooting himself.

The shots fired inside Reynolds High School sent students scattering just after eight Tuesday morning. A lone gunman with a rifle fatally shot a student inside the locker room and injured a teacher before apparently killing himself in a school bathroom.

"I guess stuff really does happen you gotta you just gotta realize it can happen at your school and it's just sad we lost somebody that's such a great guy as Emilio," says junior Cody Stallsworth.

14-year-old Emilio Hoffman was shot and killed. Authorities have tentatively identified the gunman, but are not yet releasing his name, age or the kind of rifle he used.   Tuesday's shooting was the 74th at a school in the 77 weeks since the massacre in Newtown, Connecticut.
