Sugar Land teens charged with burglarizing police chief's home

SUGAR LAND (KHOU) — Two teenagers have been charged with breaking into the police chief's home, according to Sugar Land police.

Conner Hinton and Taylor Nuttal, both 17, are charged with burglary.

Officers responded to the burglar alarm in the 2000 block of Holly Glade last Friday just before noon.

The home belongs to Sugar Land Police Chief Doug Brinkley.

The back door was forced open and several boards were missing from a fence that backs up to the greenbelt.

A neighbor reported seeing two men climb over a fence near her house and told officers what they looked like.

Another resident in a nearby neighborhood reported a suspicious vehicle with two men inside parked in front of her house.

Police spotted the vehicle shortly after the burglary and arrested Hinton and Nuttal.

Nothing inside Chief Brinkley's house appeared to be missing, so the suspects may have been scared away by the alarm.
