(KYTX) - Police continued investigating a murder and attempted suicide Wednesday morning. 31-year-old Tony Dewayne Crayton is suspected of killing his wife, 27-year-old Jessica Tyler Crayton.

Police found Jessica dead Tuesday afternoon at her home on Morris Drive after receiving a 911 call around 1pm. Investigators believe that she died of trauma to the throat and neck.

Around 2:15pm another 911 call came in saying Tony jumped from the League Street overpass onto the westbound lanes of I-30 in an apparent suicide attempt. Chief Jim Bayuk said the fall was approximately 30 feet, but Tony was not hit by cars.

The chief said officers had never been dispatched to the Crayton home in the past, and that he wasn't sure if Tony and Jessica were still married.

Tony was flown to Mother Frances hospital in Tyler where he was listed in good condition. He remained under police guard Wednesday afternoon. Bayuk said Tony will be charged with Jessica's murder when he is released from the hospital.
