Surveillance video released: Suspects from gas station break-in

Smith County Sheriff's Office:

UPDATE: TYLER (KYTX) – At 3:53 a.m. today, Deputies Justin Eakin and Josh Caulkins were driving down Highway 69 South on routine patrol when Deputy Eakin noticed a red pickup parked in the middle of the highway.

Deputy Eakin then noticed an ATM machine from the Stop and Shop, located at the intersection of Highway 69 and CR 1215, was lying on its side in the parking lot. After entering the store parking lot, deputies saw a male wearing jeans, a dark shirt and a black ski mask standing outside of the store. The male subject then ran into the woods.

After a brief search, the Whitehouse Canine Unit was dispatched to the location, but the subject was able to elude capture.

Surveillance video shows that an additional individual was also involved in the burglary.

Thanks to Deputies Eakin and Caulkins interrupting the burglary in progress, no money or property appears to be missing from the store.  Damages were limited to the store's front door, some merchandise and the ATM machine.

If you have information regarding this burglary or the identity of the suspects involved, please call the Smith County Sheriff's Office at 903-566-6600.
