Texas murder suspect captured at a Shreveport Walmart

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTBS) - KTBS 3 News has learned that a Texas man wanted for the Capital Murder of his 27 year-old girlfriend, who was 8 months pregnant at the time of her death, has been captured at a Shreveport Walmart.

Just after 11:00 p.m. Monday night, Shreveport Police detectives were contacted by authorities from the Bedford Police Department that a man from their jurisdiction had possibly been spotted in Shreveport. Bedford Police said that 26 year-old Robert Charles Atlas was the primary suspect in the stabbing deaths of 27 year-old Tracy Anderson and her unborn child. 

U.S. Marshals along with Shreveport Police found Robert Charles Atlas asleep in his car Tuesday morning at the Walmart in the 1600 block of East Bert Kouns Industrial Loop. Atlas was taken into custody without incident. Atlas' 2011 Dodge Charger was impounded as evidence in the crime. 

Atlas was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center as an out of state fugitive. No bond has been set.
