(KYTX) -The American Cancer Society is now taking applications from people willing to be in a long-term study.
The health agency wants 300,000 volunteers, including about 400 from East Texas.
The American Cancer Society is looking for people ages 30 to 65 who have never had cancer to take part. Participants have to be willing to share information about their health and lives over the next 20 to 30 years.
The cancer society believes that by doing this, they can identify new links between cancer risks and lifestyle choices.
To sign up go to the website www.cancerstudy.tx.org.
Applicants will be asked to fill out information on line and then attend one of four enrollment sessions set for Oct. 1-4 in Tyler at which they will be given more information.
