Theft suspects lead police on ATV chase

From the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office:

NACOGDOCHES CO. (KYTX) - Two Felony arrest were made Wednesday on Cr. 724 in Nacogdoches County and a stolen Polaris ATV was also recovered.

Deputies were dispatched to Cr. 710 in reference to a suspicious vehicle being parked on private land. Upon arrival Deputies identified the vehicle belonging to two known suspects in Nacogdoches County that had been recently been arrested by law enforcement and were out on bond. Deputies gained information that the suspects were possibly riding around on an ATV that deputies believed was stolen out of the city of Nacogdoches recently.

Deputies patrolled the area and located the two suspects' on Cr. 723. Both suspects fled on the ATV side by side machine and deputies pursued them.  The pursuit last for about five minutes, while the suspects went through several private yards and county roads attempting to elude Deputies.  Deputies were able to end the pursuit on Cr. 724 and both suspects were taken into custody.

23-year-old Trevor Knigge, and 28-year-old Jessica Kerr both from Nacogdoches County were arrested for Theft a 3rd felony and Evading arrest with a vehicle a State jail felony.  Knigge was also charged with Resisting Arrest a Class A misdemeanor. 

Both Subjects were booked into the Nacogdoches County Jail.

Sheriff Jason Bridges stated that prior to Wednesday arrest that both subjects were out on bond from previous arrest in Nacogdoches County. Knigge had been arrested four different times in March of this year and has made bond on those charges. He is also currently on probation on another arrest that occurred during the first part of this year. Kerr was also out on bond on two other felony arrests that occurred in January and March of this year.

The recovered ATV that has been valued at $20,000.00 dollar has been turned over to the Nacogdoches Police Department.
